MCALPINE WELCOMES NEW ADMINISTRATION ON DUMFRIES AND GALLOWAY COUNCIL

South of Scotland MSP Joan McAlpine today welcomed the new Labour-SNP
administration on Dumfries and Galloway Council which was agreed earlier
this week.

Commenting, Ms McAlpine said:

“Although it is regrettable that the last administration broke down due
to the collapse of the local Tory group, I hope that this new
administration can move forward in this progressive coalition with all
sides working together for the benefit of the people of Dumfries and
Galloway.

“I know the local SNP group has always tried to do the right thing for
the people of the region. I’m pleased the council now has a stable
administration with which to move forward and tackle the important
issues facing our area”.
