MCALPINE WELCOMES CABINET TO DUMFRIES

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon will bring her Cabinet to Dumfries next Monday.
From now on, Cabinet will regularly hold their weekly meetings out with of Edinburgh with the first meeting set to be in Dumfries on 26 January.
As part of the meetings there will be the chance for Ministers to get a real insight into the issues affecting the local area and a discussion where the public are invited to quiz the Cabinet and give their views.
A public discussion event will be held that evening in the Easterbrook Hall from 7pm.
South of Scotland MSP Joan McAlpine said:
“I am delighted that the Cabinet is coming to Dumfries for the first in this series of regular meetings. Nicola Sturgeon has said that she intends her Government to be open, listening, and available in a way we have not seen before – the most open and accessible government that Scotland has had.

“I very much hope people will take the opportunity to come along to the public discussion on the Monday evening, which is at the Easterbrook Hall at 7pm, and also get in touch with the Scottish Government on twitter, Facebook or by phone, if they would like to meet a Minister or suggest a visit.”
If you are in Dumfries and you want to raise an issue, or have a meeting with a Minister then get in touch through @scotgovFM using #DGcab, our Facebook page
The public discussion will be held from 7:00pm-8:30pm at Easterbrook Hall. There will be time for private discussion with the Cabinet members following this time.
