One of our best known members has died. Jimmy Reid will be remembered by all Scots as one of our truly great orators. A socialist and also a nationalist he always had something relevant to say. As Kenneth Roy says, Jimmy had charisma, intellect, panache, a gift for communication.

Terribly sorry to hear of the death of Denis Law - an inspiring footballer of immense skill and talent. His record of scoring goals for Scotland made a special place for him in all of our hearts. My condolences to his family. May he rest in peace.
