> “These very positive figures for Dumfries and Galloway showing a strong performance in our local A&E units are a tribute to the hard-working NHS staff who do such important work in our hospitals.
>
> “The SNP’s commitment to our health service is second to none – investing an additional £383m in frontline health spending in 2015/16, meaning Scottish health spending will now be above £12bn for the first time ever – and these figures show that this investment is continuing to deliver real results in Dumfries and Galloway.
>
> “But there is always more which can be done – and people in Dumfries and Galloway can be rest assured that there will be absolutely no complacency from the SNP and we will continue to do everything we can to further protect and improve our NHS, support staff and ensure local people have access to the top quality healthcare they deserve.
>
> “Sending a strong team of SNP MPs down to Westminster in May would send a strong message to Westminster that Scotland’s NHS is our most precious public resource and the progress the Scottish Government has made will not be hampered by further cuts or privatisation.”
