McLeod welcomes further investment in A&E services

MORE SNP ACTION TO IMPROVE LOCAL NHS
SNP MSP for the South of Scotland Aileen McLeod has today (Wednesday) welcomed the Scottish Government’s announcement of further funding to improve local A&E services.
Health Secretary Shona Robison has announced that £9m in investment will be allocated to health boards across the country from the Scottish Government’s Unscheduled Care Fund – including funding of £226,113 for NHS Dumfries & Galloway.
Welcoming the funding, Aileen said:
“The SNP’s record on our health service is second to none and is delivering real results for Dumfries & Galloway – with both NHS funding and staff numbers at a record high.  And today’s investment is a further example of the Scottish Government’s commitment to ensuring that the NHS continues to deliver the first class service that local people deserve.
“While A&E services have faced challenges in recent months, we are now seeing real improvements – and today’s major investment for Dumfries & Galloway is further welcome confirmation that improving local A&E performance is a top priority for the SNP.
“The SNP will never be complacent with our health service because we know there are always challenges and there is always more which can be done to support patients and staff– but today’s investment shows that the Scottish Government’s commitment to our NHS is continuing to deliver for local people.”
