SNP MSP Joan McAlpine will host an information stall at this weekend’s agricultural show in Langholm.
The South Scotland MSP, who has also been selected by Party members as the candidate for Dumfriesshire in next May’s Scottish Parliament Elections, will be available all day to answer constituents’ questions.
Commenting, Ms McAlpine said:
“It is a great honour to have been selected to fight the Dumfriesshire constituency for the SNP next year.
“Since being elected in 2011 I’ve helped constituents and supported causes in every corner of the Dumfriesshire – here in the east my outspoken support for residents of Canonbie faced with fracking helped deliver a moratorium.
“I’m looking forward to getting out on the campaign trail and Langholm show will be a great start.”
“The SNP has always made supporting Scotland’s rural and remote communities a priority in Government. Our rural communities, like those throughout Dumfriesshire make an enormous contribution to Scotland’s economy and Scotland only thrives when these communities are nurtured and supported.
“Please do come and visit the stall and I’ll be happy to answer any questions you have.”
