South Scotland MSP, Joan McAlpine will be running virtual online surgeries from next week and she’s encouraging constituents to get in touch with any concerns.
The SNP MSP’s first virtual appointments will take place on the 29th May using the popular online Zoom service.
Commenting, Ms McAlpine said,
“Businesses and the media have adapted quickly to carrying out their business virtually via online platforms like Skype, Zoom and Google Teams so there’s no reason why politicians can’t either. MSP’s use these video conference calls now as part of our parliamentary duties so why not for our constituents too? These services are growing in popularity as people become more used to using them and sometimes it’s just nice to talk face to face.
“I realise that video calling isn’t everyone’s cup of tea and some constituents don’t have the necessary equipment so I’ll still be offering telephone surgeries for anyone who needs my help. Constituents can book a video or telephone surgery by calling my office on 07823 470566 or by sending me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org”
