Grass roots organisation ‘Communities for Yes’ will host a public meeting in Dumfries this Friday during which panel members will answer questions about Scottish Independence.
Members of the public with unanswered questions are urged to come along and hear why panellists believe that a Yes vote will be the best choice for Scotland on September the 18th.
The wide ranging and diverse panel will include Tasmina Ahmed Sheikh representing Lawyers for Yes, Chris Jones from English Scots for Yes and local Councillor Yen Hongmei Jin.
The meeting is free to attend and will be held at the Empire Suite in the Cairndale Hotel on English Street, Dumfries. Doors open at 6.30pm and the event will conclude at 9pm.
Bollywood star turned successful lawyer Tasmina Ahmed Sheikh said:
“All over the country the tradition of the public meeting is being revived by grass roots organisations campaigning for a Yes vote. It’s a great way to engage with people – listen to their hopes and fears – and answer as many questions as possible.
“As a Yes campaigner it is always heartening to see that at almost every meeting people who arrive as undecided voters leave with the intention of voting Yes. It goes to show that once people hear the positive case for Yes and the country Scotland could be, it’s an easy decision to make.”
Dumfries and Galloway councillor Yen Hongmei Jin added:
“I urge anyone who has not yet made up their mind to come along on Friday night and hear from a very diverse panel why they are voting Yes.
“There will be an In-depth question and answer session afterwards too, so it’s a great opportunity to have your questions answered directly.”
