Notes:
South of Scotland MSP Joan McAlpine said:
“Kelly has an extraordinary talent for customising shoes using crystals, beads, diamante and even seashells.
“Businesses like Glitzaratti prove that the entrepreneurial and innovative spirit is alive and well in Scotland – including amongst young women. The Global Entrepreneurship Monitor Report shows that there has been a rise in early-stage entrepreneurship here and women like Kelly will benefit from the Scottish Government’s ‘Women in Enterprise’ framework and action plan – the only one of its kind in Europe – which focuses on employing a collaborative approach across the public, private and third sector.
“Of course with Independence we can do more to promote entrepreneurship amongst women – not least through the introduction of universal free childcare for children aged one to five supporting parents –particularly mothers – to go out to work.”
·         Deputy First Minister Nicola Sturgeon will be visiting Dumfries to take part in a discussion on the Scottish Government’s blueprint for independence, Scotland’s Future.
·         In the run up to the referendum Cabinet Secretaries will be holding a series of public Q&A sessions across Scotland, as well as holding a number of Cabinet meetings outside of Edinburgh.
·         The event will be held on Monday 7th July at 1pm in the Easterbrook Hall’s Duncan Rooms.
