SNP 2026 Manifesto
There’s a lot in this 2026 SNP Manifesto programme for the next government, including, but not limited to:
- extended childcare support to every child in our country from 9 months old to the end of primary school by the end of the next parliament
- ensure any child with additional support needs, regardless of where they go to school in Scotland, will be supported through specialised ASN provision in their school
- legislate to ensure that there is a national mobile phone ban in all of Scotland’s classrooms
- increase the number of apprenticeships to deliver 150,000 over the Parliament
- improve pathways to progression from band 5 to band 6 for nurses and develop more community-based placements for nurses
- revise the ‘Golden Hellos’ initiatives to attract more GPs, consultants and dentists to rural and island communities
- help farmers and crofters deliver for nature by ensuring appropriately targeted support through the new 4 tier framework – this will include increasing the level of support provided to Tier 2, 3 and 4
- invest further in the Rural Tourism Infrastructure Fund (RTIF)
- £75 million Rural and Island Housing Fund to help address costs of rural supply and build of affordable homes
- joint equity contribution of up to £10,000 for first-time buyers’ mortgage deposit
- review the valuation methodology applied to non-domestic rates in the hospitality sector
- expand the direct delivery of health care by delivering more mobile health services, with a specific focus on our rural and island communities
- a much needed ‘Better Surfaces’ fund for Councils of £350m to fix potholes, improve drainage, and do resurfacing
- improvements to a number of roads, including to the A75 and A77 road infrastructure
- accelerate investment in offshore wind, solar, pumped storage and emerging technologies – supported by grid modernisation and meaningful community benefit
- reform and simplify the public sector landscape at all levels in order to protect service delivery
- support our police with a record £1.7 billion this year to ensure Police Scotland can train officers and provide the best pay
- pilot a Scottish Artists Minimum Income
